Stelios Eliakis, Eleni Zampou and Katerina Pramatari Information sharing and interoperability is a key ingredient for any system that participates in Service oriented architectures (SOA) and wants to communicate and exchange information with other partners. Although, there are many technologies that support interoperability, there is no research which extracts and aggregates the requirements of a system, the necessary architecture entities and tools. In this chapter we review the constraints and the principles that affect architecture design and the research efforts about interoperability infrastructures. Finally, we propose a set of architecture entities and tools that can enable, support and maintain interoperability in heterogonous, dynamic and constantly changing environments. The Department of Management Science and Technology was established in 2000. The Department's program of study has been designed to prepare high-caliber professionals for enterprises and organizations, who will be capable of efficiently dealing with the complexity of current and future technological, economic and social challenges. Therefore, the emphasis of the study program falls on the multi-disciplinary integration of technological, economic and managerial scientific areas. More specifically, the purpose of the program is the education of executives with basic knowledge of management science, supplemented with knowledge and skills in the management and use of information technologies, as well as the necessary organizational, strategic and leadership skills. With this mix of knowledge and skills, they will be able to efficiently take operational decisions and implement strategies, a task that, by its very nature, requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Courses are integrated, where appropriate, with hands-on laboratory assignments carried out in the two dedicated laboratories of the department (60 seats of total capacity). The Educational Computing Laboratories for the department's students support the latest products in business technology and enterprise applications and offer Information Technology support to over 30 courses.
