Πρόσφατα πραγματοποιήθηκε η τελετη απονομής του πρώτου διαγωνισμού e-volution awards 2012 μέσα σε εορταστικό κλίμα, παρουσία συσσωμης της αγοράς. Τις απονομές των βραβείων έκαναν υψηλόβαθμα στελέχη της αγοράς, Πρόεδροι φορεων και Ινστιτουτων και εκπρόσωποι της πολιτείας. Τα e-volution awards αποτελούν τον μοναδικό και σημαντικότερο διαγωνισμό με στόχο την ανάδειξη και επιβράβευση των βέλτιστων πρακτικών στο χωρο του ηλεκτρονικού επιχειρείν.

aueb logoThe Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) was originally founded in 1920 under the name Athens School of Commercial Studies. It was renamed in 1926 as the Athens School of Economics and Business Science, a name that was retained until 1989 when it assumes its present name, that is the Athens University of Economics and Business.

It is the third oldest Higher Education Institution in Greece and the oldest in the general fields of Economics and Business. Up to 1955 the School offered only one degree in the area of Economics and Commerce. In 1955 it started two programmes leading to two degrees: one in Economics and the other in Business Administration. In 1984 the School was divided into three Departments, namely the Department of Economics, the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Statistics and Informatics. Today the structure of the University programme is as follows:

A formal Master's programme in Economics was launched in 1978 and another one in Business Administration started in 1985. Today the University is running 19 different programmes at the postgraduate level, which are the following:

The main site of the University is located at 76, Patission Street in the centre of Athens, near the National Archaeological Museum. One of its sides faces the Pedion Areos Park and the Panellinios Sports Club. Three more building in the neighborhood cover the University's needs in offices and teaching rooms. One of them is located at 12, Kodrikton Street, another one is at 12, Derigny Street, the Research Center is located a few blocks away, at 46, Kefallinias Street and the Centre of Postgraduate Studies at Evelpidon and Lefkados Street.

The Athens University of Economics and Business is a State University under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. Its main decision-making bodies are the Senate, the Rector's Council and the Rector. The eight departments of the Athens University of Economics and Business award degrees equivalent to a four-year BA or BSc in the respective fields. The postgraduate departments award Master's degrees. Doctorates are awarded by each department upon the completion of a dissertation and its successful defence in public.

Inter-university cooperation is strongly supported and widely expanded. The Athens University of Economics and Business participates actively in more than 150 exchanges with higher education institutions in the framework of bilateral agreements, Socrates/Erasmus and other mobility programmes. Currently the School promotes Bilateral Agreement for the Socrates/ Erasmus Programme with 149 Universities from the following counties: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.

The International Relations Office, established in 1989, has to carry out international cooperation matters. It is responsible for administering the exchange programmes concerning students and teaching staff mobility, as well as helping incoming and outgoing students in solving practical, administrative and educational matters during their study period.

The University is member of the European Universities Association (EUA), of the Community of Mediterranean Universities (CUM), of the European Association for International Education (EAIA), of the Association of European Universities Public Relations and Information Officers (EUPRIO), etc.
